This is a big project. Not to mention its running at the same time as the big boy Levesque flats. So to make it more manageable Caleb and I decided to break it down into three phases. First, existing interior work. It's winter, most of the ground is frozen with layers of snow, why not work in the warmth of the house plus its a kitchen, the heart and soul of our company . Not to cut ourselves short there is also a laundry room in the second floor, relocating some walls and the big toe goes to the openings of the bay window and new living room and master bedroom entrance. All solid two layer brick with the burden weight of two stories above. The pain is evident below on Caleb's shoulders and face. All the hard and frustrating work in the end payed off and the playful faces were back in action, evident in Phils face below, not so much in Chris's.
Back in cabinet fairy tale, Dan and I were freezing our butts in Pottstown, strapping down 30 year air dried cherry from Al to our company truck, all 350 bft of it. Some of the boards were as wide as 18", clear as Albanian skies in august. While Jon and Samir were fabricating the boxes back at our shop. From there on the rest of the project ran really smooth, but I have learned from the past to never get over joyed until the last nail is in. Finally the problem popped up just in the worst of time. As we near the end, clients are always frustrated and overjoyed. They want us around, but also want us out to get to the goods, our finished product. Unfortunately the Westkaemper family had to wait a bit longer since the counter top installers broke the ice stone and tried to glue it and quickly run out. Teresa was very disappointed with their honesty, but they made up for it by installing a new one that looks amazing.
Here we are in May and phase I is complete and Phase II started right of the bat with a problem.
